Salary: £30,751 - £36,312

We have an exciting opportunity for four Quality Control Officers to be part of a new Post Inspection team within Housing Services conducting inspections of repairs carried out in our Council Homes.

Housing Services is a large multi skilled service responsible for the planning and delivery of capital, maintenance and repair works to over 20,000 Council homes across the city. It is essential that the repairs carried out in our homes are high quality, make sure we are providing safe and comfortable homes for our tenants and help to drive up tenant satisfaction with our service. This new role will ensure repairs, maintenance and capital works carried out by in house operatives or by external contractors is of a high standard.

This is a diverse role where you will be out on site and responsible for carrying out post work inspections, quality assurance sampling and checks, follow up on any incomplete work and ensure corrective action is undertaken. The inspection team will be responsible for providing information to Team Leaders and Managers to enable the service to drive performance and improve the quality of repairs.

A trade background is essential for this role.

If you feel you have the relevant qualifications, skills and experience, are well organised and have excellent communications and customer service skills, we would welcome your application.

This post can be offered as an internal secondment but please make sure you have your manager’s approval before applying for the post.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we’re bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.

To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
