Residential Care Officer - Twi-light Post
Southhouse

Salary: £28,854 - £34,057 (pro-rata for part time)
Hours: 13.5 & 23 hours per week

Nightshift RCO posts are also subject to working time payments and unsociable hour allowances.

We currently have two vacancies within the house to support a well established night shift team.

Southhouse aims to provide positive, safe, and nurturing experiences for our young people. Ensuring that holistic and person-centred care is at the forefront of our practice, respecting each young person’s individuality, we aim to support young people’s emotional and physical wellbeing.

Our residential staff team, work from a relational platform, that is trauma informed and holds the principles of social pedagogy and PACE within its ethos and culture.

Future positive outcomes are a crucial focus to supporting vulnerable young people and our dedicated team at Southhouse step up to the day-to-day challenges that afford our young people the opportunity to grow and develop in a safe and secure life space.

Our house offers choice, individuality, and acceptance. The role of Residential Childcare Officer (RCO) is a key role for supporting, caring & upholding the rights of children & young people and the ethos of Southhouse

We are seeking child centred, resilient & motivated individuals to positively role model, and who can make a difference in the lives of young people. The successful candidates will have experience of supporting young people, have a commitment to promoting children’s rights and advocating for them.

The ideal candidate should have good communication and interpersonal skills, be reliable and adaptable with a clear focus on improving the outcomes for vulnerable young people.

You should have or be working towards completing SVQ Level 3/HNC or equivalent in Child Care/Social care or related area, or other relevant qualification at SCQF Level 7, or above. There is also a requirement to register with the Scottish Social services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of employment & under the relevant category.
