Hours: 36 per week

This is an exciting opportunity to join the City of Edinburgh Council Internal Audit team as a Senior Auditor. The successful candidate will have technology and systems experience either from working within an IT related role or technology based audit role.

You will have a strong team focus, and strong interpersonal, communication and report writing skills. A relevant technology audit related qualification such as CISA/ISACA or equivalent industry achieved training is desirable.

You will be responsible for supporting the Principal Audit Managers in end to end delivery of multiple technology and system based and complex audits included within the Internal Audit annual plan, and managing the delivery of team members whilst providing guidance, coaching and support. You will also support design and delivery of relevant training for audit team members. The role also involves supporting the Principal Audit Managers and Chief Internal Auditor with stakeholder management at senior levels across the Council.

The role is offered on a hybrid basis with an expectation the post holder will attend our Waverley Court office in Edinburgh two days per week. The post holder will be required to attend Council offices within Edinburgh, as required to support audit fieldwork and service delivery as needed on an audit by audit basis.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we’re bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.

To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
