We are looking for creative, enthusiastic, emotionally resilient, experienced, Social Workers to join the busy Residential Review Team based at South Neighbourhood Office, Captains Road, Edinburgh but operating a Hybrid working model. Residential Review Team is an innovative sight for the implementation of the Three Conversations Model. Trauma informed, relationships and strengths based practice is at the heart of our work. We use the Three Conversations approach to understand what really matters to people and families, what needs to happen next for them, and how we can be most useful.

The Residential Review team is a specialised team delivering a high standard of support to service users in care homes across and outwith Edinburgh. The team manage many complex cases, individual and large-scale adult protection investigations.

You will undertake a range of statutory tasks including assessments and support planning, risk assessment and risk management. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will support adults, their families, to balance the complex areas of risk and need with choice and rights. You will be able to provide advice, support, guidance and, if necessary, interventions, should an adult be at risk of harm and in need of protection under the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 or Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000. We also have the Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013 at the heart of our practice, to provide a range of choices to people for how they are provided with the support they need.

You will work in a supportive, well established team and have regular supervision, 1:1 and in a group setting, and regular training in person and/or as e-learning.

You must hold a degree/diploma or equivalent qualification in Social Work. You must also be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council. These posts are exempt under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).

If you would like to know more about the role you can email Senior Social Workers Thamalee Peiris – thamalee.peiris@edinburgh.gov.uk or Julie Rough – julie.rough@edinburgh.gov.uk

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we’re bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.

Requirements

To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
