Firrhill High School serves the area of South West Edinburgh. In partnership with our five associated primary schools Bonaly, Colinton, Pentland, Longstone and Oxgangs, we strive to “Provide learning opportunities of the highest quality.” Our school values are founded on respect for self and others, tolerance and support.

We have an ambitious goal in all we do – excellence for all, excellence by all.

We are one of the largest schools in Edinburgh with a roll of over 1300 pupils and 130 staff. This provides us with the opportunity to provide a wide range of curricular, interdisciplinary and extracurricular activities that meet the needs of all of our pupils. We also provide opportunities for personal achievement and support pupils to develop skills for learning, work and life.

We are looking to recruit teachers to join our dedicated staff who will be ambitious for all our pupils and are committed to supporting our young people to develop to their fullest potential.

nt-size: 12px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Geography is a popular subject at Firrhill with high levels of academic success. We are looking to recruit an ambitious Geography teacher with the drive and ambition to build on that success to grow the subject further and contribute to a high-performing faculty and school.

All staff benefit from a well-structured and responsive Professional Learning programme where staff are encouraged to both develop their own practice and to actively share their expertise with colleagues. We place a particular emphasis on developing leadership capacity at all levels. Firrhill is a Gold Rights Respecting School and we place children’s rights at the centre of our practice. This contributes significantly to our school ethos of inclusion, diversity, tolerance and friendship.

The work of the school is supported by an active Parent Council and Parent Teachers Association.

Further information on the school can be found at firrhillhigh.org
