Salary: £28,854 - £34,057
YMI Co-ordinator hours: 36 per week
Youth Music Initiative create access to high-quality music making opportunities for young people across City of Edinburgh Council primary schools and special schools. Fully funded by Creative Scotland, Edinburgh’s Youth Music Initiative programme helps develop Creative Learning, providing support to schools and establishments across the city.
This is an exciting opportunity to take forward Youth Music Initiative activity across Edinburgh Schools. The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating YMI provisions running in primary schools and special schools, as well as collaborating with several partner agencies. The YMI co-ordinator will work mainly from home using a laptop provided for the role, so requires to be confident with communicating by email and using software such as office 365.
The successful candidate will be responsible for project planning and evaluation, resource creation and monitoring of project budgets. They will demonstrate initiative, ability to work independently and as part of a team and be dedicated to own personal development.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
