Peripatetic Teacher of the Deaf, Western Isles (7148)

£27,828 - £34,470 per annum, inclusive of £1,798 Distant Islands Allowance per annum

Required to implement the Council’s Inclusion Policy by working with schools and other agencies to support pupils with additional support needs. The ASN Manager will direct the location of schools and input required.

You will be required to work collaboratively and in partnership with schools to support pupils with additional support needs in relation to deaf education, ensure the Council’s staged intervention process is implemented, and regularly assess pupil’s educational and social needs and devise and implement methods of effectively meeting those needs.

The successful candidate must have an appropriate degree / diploma in Teaching and GTC Scotland Registration and have teaching experience of pupils with a broad range of additional support needs.

A full unrestricted driving licence is essential for this post.

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. 

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Children (Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme - mygov.scot).
