Job Description

The Trainee Auditor is a member of a statutory and professional audit team. The main function of the Comhairle’s internal audit service is to provide an independent appraisal of the organisation’s internal control systems. Specific responsibilities include: (i) Systems Audit (ii) Regularity Audit (iii) Contract Audit (iv) Special Investigations Salary Progression: Stage 1 – Appointment to Trainee Auditor post and commencement of CIA Certificate – Grade F Stage 2 – Completion of CIA, Commencement of Chartered Member modules and progression to more complex audit work in line with job description – Grade H Stage 3 – Completion of CMIIA and progression to all elements of the job description - Grade I

Requirements

You must have strong written and numerical communication skills, be competent in using IT systems in a working environment, including spreadsheets and have the ability to prioritise and manage work to short deadlines. It is essential that you are educated to degree level (or equivalent). Fixed term contract for 3 years. Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. You will be required to remain in the Comharile’s employment for a minimum period of 3 years following completion of your training programme should an employment opportunity exist for which you are assessed as suitable.
