Economic Development Officer (17/309) (Fixed Term)

We are recruiting for an Economic Development Officer (EDO) to join the Strategic Economic Investment Service based in Dumfries and Galloway.

 

As an EDO your role will be to support the successful development and delivery of internal and external Economic Development funding programmes in a cost-effective way maximising alignment with strategic priorities of the Council and those of external funding bodies.  The role holder will develop, co-ordinate and implement local, regional and placed based Economic Development strategies and programmes that will maximise sustainable economic benefits to Dumfries and Galloway.

 

We would welcome applications from those who have experience in the delivery of economic development initiatives in a public / private or rural setting and ensure that both internal and external funding requirements are met and reported against. The role holder will have experience of working with a wide range of organisations including public sector bodies, community groups and a wide range of external agencies in delivering projects and programmes. We believe in developing and supporting our staff and training can be provided to strengthen the skills of new team members.

 

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

 

 

This post is initially fixed term for up to 24 months.

You will be working in a welcoming team who have a broad and detailed understanding of the local economic climate within Dumfries and Galloway who work in partnership to develop and deliver projects and programmes.
