Excellent opportunities have arisen for three posts of Homeless Persons Assistant within the Housing Options & Homeless Service. You will be required to work 36 hours per week.
An integral part of the Temporary Accommodation and Community Wellbeing team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Service to deliver Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Homelessness statutory duties.
You will be part of a busy team providing support to customers and dealing with challenging situations.
You will assist the Temporary Accommodation and Community Wellbeing team, providing support to customers to ensure accommodation is managed for the period of occupancy.
You should have experience of working in an office environment and dealing with the public, particularly in challenging situations. You should have excellent communication, administration and computer literacy skills. You should be educated to minimum National 4 or equivalent in English and Maths. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential skills for this role.
You must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and resilient with a flexible approach to work. You must be able to work independently and as part of the wider team to meet deadlines and deliver KPIs.
Relevant Housing and Homeless knowledge is desirable.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
