We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to be responsible for the efficient, effective management and delivery of school support services.
The School Support Services Lead Officer will lead the Primary School Support Managers and central MISS Team along with providing operation and functional support to Secondary School Support Managers.
The ideal candidate will be proactive in leading and managing system development and deployment and will strive to deliver efficient and effective solutions for our service. You will work closely with finance and procurement colleagues, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and provide a monitoring and troubleshooting role.
The School Support Services Lead Officer will also lead the annual census collections to Scottish Government therefore data accuracy and an understanding of current policy is essential.
You will have considerable experience in a school or central support-based role, with an understanding of school operating models and stakeholder expectations. You should have effective communication and numeracy skills as well as the ability to ensure organisational and service readiness for change through aligning values, structures, systems and skills.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
