Business Adviser (Fixed Term)

Dumfries and Galloway Council are expanding their Business Gateway service offering and are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Business Adviser to provide Star-Up and Existing business advice. This post will be based within the Team delivering this operation within Economic Developments Business and Enterprise Team.

This post is 36 hours per week and you will be required to triage enquires received (e.g. phone, email, CRM) by Assessment of clients’ immediate needs. Providing front line/general business information on a variety of general business topics and ensuring customer is directed, if required, to the relevant internal or external support, including partner agencies.

We are seeking a multi-skilled experienced Business Adviser, experience of private sector business management, project development and financial administration and budgeting is essential. Knowledge of running an owned Business is desirable. A background understanding of rural business and Economic development issues is essential.

Working knowledge of the new Scottish Enterprise CRM 2 would be a distinct advantage.

The post is fixed term until 31st March 25. This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.

You should be educated to general degree level or equivalent and experience is essential. A Premier Advisory certification is desirable.

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
