Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme Officer (18/338) (Fixed Term)

Part of the Council’s Development Planning team, the Dumfries Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) Project Officer will project manage delivery of the final two years of the CARS project, process and monitor grant applications, promote and monitor projects and deliver the reporting requirements including risk management. They will also implement the training plan and widen knowledge, understanding and awareness of heritage in Dumfries.

 

The role will include liaising with partners, owners, tenants, agents, stakeholders and other organisations and promote high quality building repair, maintenance and provide conservation advice.

 

You must have a Degree / Diploma in Architectural or similar discipline such as Building Surveying, or Quantity Surveying, Heritage Management or Town Planning and have experience of building conservation and traditional construction techniques. Project management experience would be desirable.

 

You must have a good standard of written and spoken English, have computing skills, be able to identify planning issues, prioritise and manage your time properly, work well under pressure and as part of a team, and demonstrate a customer-focussed attitude.

 

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

 

This post is fixed term for up to 2 years.
