The Learning Disability Service provided by Dumfries and Galloway’s Complex Care and Support Team supports young people and adults who have a range of needs including learning/ physical disabilities and autism spectrum conditions.

As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the service delivered by Castle Douglas Community Support Service. Demonstrating effective leadership and management skills and experience in the care sector supporting people with learning disability, you will develop and deliver high quality person-centred community-based services and opportunities based on the principles of self-directed support, ‘The keys to life’ and Health & Social Care Standards.

Reporting to the Senior Manager (Day Community and Home Support Services), you will lead a team of staff, manage financial and other resources, and ensure compliance with national and service governance.  The Castle Douglas Community Support Service supports people in their own homes. Occasionally, the service may also support people in crisis or in emergency situations. With insight and innovation, you will develop, promote, and facilitate access to community-based opportunities to enhance skills, facilitate independence, improve health and wellbeing and participation in adult learning/work-related activities. You must have a flexible approach to work under pressure and remain objective whilst showing sensitivity towards others.

You will be based in Castle Douglas but some of the support work by staff may be carried out in a wider geographical area.
