HT02 £53,964

Roll: Combined Roll 29 (Colvend – 8, Kirkgunzeon – 21)

We are seeking to appoint a leader with vision and a passion for learning who will, along with a management team, lead learning at Colvend and Kirkgunzeon Primary Partnership. This post offers an exciting opportunity to shape educational provision within a new school partnership community, which has high aspirations for all.

Colvend and Kirkgunzeon Primary Schools are situated in beautiful countryside, close to the Solway Firth. The schools are very much at the centre of their communities. The Partnership forms part of the Dalbeattie High School cluster.  The management structure consists of a Headteacher and a full time Principal Teacher in each school. The Headteacher position is non-class committed.

Colvend and Kirkgunzeon Primary Schools have strong links with Dalbeattie Learning Campus and the wider community.  The schools are supported by warm and welcoming communities with active parent councils, who work collaboratively to support the pupils and staff. The schools engage in using the outdoors to promote the children’s learning, taking the opportunity to utilise their local environments.

The Partnership senior management team consists of a non-class committed Headteacher and two Principal Teachers (one in each school).

Dumfries and Galloway’s approach to Education looks to combine the traditional values, ethos and atmosphere of this unique corner of Scotland with fresh 21st Century thinking.  We are seeking to appoint a leader with vision and a passion for learning who will lead learning within Colvend and Kirkgunzeon Primary Partnership.  The post represents an excellent opportunity to be innovative in developing our culture of sharing and learning. Our authority has been recognised as having a clear focus on building staff skills to improve learning and teaching, raise attainment and develop strong leadership at all levels.

Applicants will have proven leadership qualities and experience in primary education and be committed to very high standards of achievement.
