Streetscene Operative 2 (19/226)

An opportunity has arisen for a Streetscene Operative 2 post based at Cargen Tower, Dumfries to cover Streetscene functions within our communities.

 

You will work a total of 36 hours per week.

 

Duties will include:

 

1 Litter picking of footpaths, roadside verges, green open spaces and other areas.

2 Street sweeping.

3 Graffiti removal.

4 Driving of vehicles and operation of cleansing equipment

5 Cleaning of bins and other street/grounds furniture.

6 General maintenance work in public areas including streets, roadsides, parks, playing fields, cemeteries, landscaped areas, and similar public open spaces.

7 Other tasks relating to Community Asset/Streetscene functions.

 

You must be a team player, able to work on own initiative and be prepared to work outside and in all weather conditions. You will be expected to carry out various duties as instructed by the Community Assets Supervisor and have a working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and Streetscene.

 

Educated to Standard Grade Level is desirable as is various qualifications directly linked with the Streetscene functions. A full and current driving licence is essential as well as some experience in street cleansing and/or grounds maintenance.

 

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
