Trainee Customer Service Advisor (19/354)

Annandale & Eskdale

£13,777.92 - £14,025.17

Are you looking for a career working with people?

An exciting opportunity is available to join the Customer Services Department of Dumfries and Galloway Council as a Trainee Customer Service Advisor.

You will be required to work 21.5 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.

All you need are qualifications to SCQF Level 4 (National 4), the ability to talk to people, and a desire to develop yourself. If you have this and oodles of enthusiasm and positivity, then we want to hear from you.

This is an ideal opportunity to build yourself a career in a customer-focused and forward-thinking environment. We’ll provide all training which includes supporting you to sit the professional qualification to become a Registrar of births, deaths and marriages in Scotland.

This role is ideally suited to career changers and those returning to the workplace. Hours of work can be discussed, with options such as working during school hours.

Our Customer Services Department works in the heart of our local communities delivering face to face customer services, libraries, heritage services, and registration for births, deaths, and marriages.

To give you a sense of the role, in a typical day you can go from registering a birth, conducting a marriage, delivering BookBug sessions, to giving out food parcels and library books. So, if you love variety in your day and can see yourself at the heart of a community supporting people through the best and worst life events, we want to hear from you.

The added bonus to these roles is that they are based in Annandale and Eskdale where we have our Gretna Registration Office, the home of marriages in Scotland!

A current driving licence is desirable, as the ability to travel is a requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged. In this role you can be asked to work in any of our offices in the key area the post is based, for example the role in Annandale & Eskdale will cover Lockerbie, Annan, Langholm, Gretna, Eastriggs, Lochmaben and Moffat.

This post is subject to a Baseline Personnel Security Standards check, and this includes candidate vetting through Disclosure Scotland.
