Job Description

Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com To develop and manage an extensive and experiential Group Fitness programme as part of a multi-site timetable which will form part of targeted and mainstream offerings with the overall aim or promoting participation in physical activity

Responsibilities

Managing a team of freelance fitness instructors, you will be responsible for monitoring and developing a varied and on trend Group Exercise programme across 8 Leisure and Culture Dundee venues that attracts and retains members and non-members alike.

The Individual

The individual should be educated to degree, or equivalent, level or have relevant experience in the field. Evidence of continued professional development in the field is desirable. The individual should have experience in managing staff across a large-scale programme, and implementing strategies to ensure quality assurance throughout. Experience in monitoring and evaluation of programmes and experience in dealing with associated budgets should be held. The individual should have a clear understanding of benefits that physical activity can bring to all; as well as understanding the associated barriers to engaging within physical activity programme. The individual should have experience in working with a wide variety of groups, creating a programme that is accessible to all. The individual should be approachable, self-driven, reliable and have the ability to motivate others. In addition, they should possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, and be able to plan and organise time effective to meet tight deadlines. Experience in using ICT, including Microsoft Office and associated applications are essential to this post. As the industry is constantly evolving the individual should be willing to undergo further training as part continued personal development and service provision enhancement. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Leisure & Culture Dundee
