Job Description

Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com We are looking for a Service Manager to join our team at Leisure & Culture Dundee. Working 37 hours per week, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of activity strategies across a range of areas within Leisure & Sport Services.

Requirements

Degree or equivalent or relevant experience in a sports or leisure related field.

Responsibilities

To manage, develop and coordinate the activities and remit of the Active Living Section including the planning, promotion, development and financial control of the Active Living Section. To develop and improve the management of services under the postholder’s control and lead in the formulation, development and implementation of activity strategies for the client and customer groups within the remit of the Active Living Section.

The Individual

You will have knowledge and experience in sports or leisure management, including the implementation of sports/activity programmes and leading development /working groups. You will have experience of managing staff and working in multi-agency partnerships. You will have knowledge of sports or leisure management structures and experience of producing and implementing strategic plans, policies and procedures. You will also have experience of financial management, consultation, monitoring and evaluation. You should be able to demonstrate strong, leadership, organisational and planning skills, with experience of project management and the effective management of resources, including Marketing and promotion. You will be a self motivator with the ability to work in a team, encourage teamwork and meet deadlines. You will have strong interpersonal skills, be diplomatic, flexible and adaptable and willing to work flexible hours and occasional weekends With the ability to work on your own initiative and motivate others and a willingness to undertake training and development. You should also have a driving licence.
