Job Description

To undertake training as an Apprentice Plasterer and to assist in all Joinery repairs and all refurbishment work to Council properties; to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives; specifically in relation to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement and Best Value.

We follow the national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”.  With regards to requests for references and in line with this guidance, during your application process you should provide details of a minimum of two appropriate and relevant references, one of which should be from the current or most recent employer.  It is also a requirement that the reference from the current or most recent employer is from an appropriately senior manager and it is not a reference from a former peer operating at the same level.

Responsibilities

To apply and be considered for this post you must be a resident of East Ayrshire and be aged between 16 and 24 years old. If you are care experienced or have a disability, you can apply up until the age of 29.

This is a full time temporary post based at Burnside Street, Kilmarnock.

This post is temporary for 4 years to allow the successful candidate to complete their apprenticeship. Start date is August 2024.

The salary for this post is £10.90 per hour.
