Job Description

We are looking for an experienced leader to join our Children’s Health, Care and Justice Team to provide leadership for our social work justice and Prison Health Care Team (located within HMP Kilmarnock). You will work as part of the Leadership team responsible for delivering person centred, high quality and innovative social work and health care services within East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership. You will be committed to improving outcomes for people who access Justice Social Work Services and Prison based Healthcare Services. As a senior manager you will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the needs of this vulnerable and often stigmatised group of people. You will be responsible for developing services that are trauma aware and practice in a trauma responsive way. You will be supported in the role by a Justice Social Work Service Manager and a Prison Healthcare Clinical Service Manager who manage operational service delivery. You will have had experience of leading teams and be skilled in managing people, services and budgets. We are looking for a senior manager who has an innovative and creative approach to service development and delivery and one who places the needs of those who access services to the forefront.

 

 

Requirements

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.
Please note:- PVG members' records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.

This is a permanent full time post based within Justice Services. 


Selection Process


Stage One – Longleet – This will take place on Thursday 13 April 2023.

This stage will consider the criteria set out in the person specification for qualifications and experience.

Stage Two – Assessment Centre – This will take place on Thursday 20 April 2023.

Only those whose evidence meets the highest standard expected for this role across all essential selection criteria will be shortlisted for attendance at the assessment centre.

Stage Three – Shortleet – This will take place on Wednesday 3 May 2023.

This stage will consider the results of the Assessment Centre with candidates who are successful in the assessment process being invited to the final stage.

Stage Four – Final Interview and Presentation – This will take place on Thursday 11 May 2023.

This stage will involve a panel interview and a presentation designed to assess your experience and leadership behaviours.

Salary Information 

The successful candidate will have the option of being appointed on either East Ayrshire Council or NHS Ayrshire & Arran terms and conditions.

  • EAC 35hrs per week Annual Salary - £63,864 - £69,560
  • NHS 37.5hrs per week Annual Salary - Band 8B £61,325 - £66,018
