The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £13.42 - £14.47

Temporary 9th August 2024.
This is a 52-week non-sessional post i.e., it will include working during the school holidays.

Days and hours of work:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 09:30-14:30 (15 minute break each day).

Whitecraig Primary School is a small friendly, non-denominational school located in the heart of Whitecraig village, just outside of Musselburgh. The school currently serves both the village of Whitecraig and surrounding areas. The village is currently under development and the school role is expected to double in size over the next few years, prompting the build of a new school and community hub for our pupils and the wider community. We have a current roll of 126 pupils made up of 5 classes, some of which are composite and a 48 week nursery, which currently holds up to 28 pupils. We have a support for learning room, nurture base, a large hall, GP room and a fantastic amount of outdoor space for our learners to use. We are looking for an energetic and committed individual to join our close knit team, to help maintain a high level of support to our pupils, staff and families. Job Details

To provide care and assistance to individuals and small groups of pupils with additional support needs.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Good standard of general education.
Experience of working with or caring for children with additional support needs.

Nursery Only: SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months from the date of appointment to this post is essential.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups are required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
