The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week).  Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £13.80 - £14.78

Days and Hours of Work:
Monday, 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-18:00
Tuesday, 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00
Wednesday, 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00
Friday, 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00
Alternate Saturdays, 10:00-13:00
To start 1st April

This is an opportunity for someone who loves working within community and with local groups.

The successful candidate will supervise the day to day operation of the library and be expected to promote reading for pleasure and wellbeing, help organise events, develop and lead groups for children and adults (e.g. bookbug, homework clubs, reading groups, reminiscence groups), alongside increasing digital literacy.

This role will be based mainly within Longniddry Library but will include working across our other libraries and customer service areas across East Lothian.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to Higher level, NC or SVQ Level 2 in English and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
