Classroom Assistant - East Linton Primary School

Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year).  Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay:  £11.25-£12.11

This is a 39-week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days
Maternity Cover until 28th March 2024
Days and hours of work:
Monday - Thursday, 09:00-14:45 (30 minute break)

East Linton Primary is a traditional Victorian stone built, single story building located in the beautiful village of East Linton.  The current school roll is 208 catering for children from Nursery to P7.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Classroom Assistant to join our school assisting class teachers and pupils across P1-P7.The post includes playground supervision, supporting small group literacy improvement through Read Write Inc, working with individuals in our Nurture Room, supporting individuals and small groups in class and playing a role in the wellbeing for pupils across the school.

To support the quality of teaching and learning to pupils and assist in the promotion of pupil development through support and involvement in learning activities.

Relevant Qualifications
Good standard of general education

Nursery Only: SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months from the date of appointment to this post is essential.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
