East Lothian Rehabilitation Service (ELRS) is a forward thinking, dynamic and integrated team with bases in Haddington, Musselburgh and Dunbar. The service comprises of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Community Care Workers and Assistant Practitioners employed by East Lothian Council or NHS as part of East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership. The service is committed to developing effective and efficient ways of enabling people affected by disability to achieve their outcomes in their own homes. The Driver Technician is an integral part of the team, responsible for delivery and fitting of equipment recommended and ordered by the therapy staff in a timely manner. This vital role enables people to remain safe and independent at home or be discharged safely from hospital.

An opportunity has arisen for a part time (27 hours), Driver Technician to join the team. With a base in East Lothian Community Hospital, the post holder will work closely with another driver, the Rehabilitation Service therapists and the Community Equipment Loan Service in Edinburgh to provide a high standard of service delivery.

The main tasks in this role are to deliver and fit equipment to client's property; to uplift equipment from clients’ property or satellite stores when not required; to monitor stock levels in the satellite stores and take part in stock taking; to manage workload and deliveries plan and to complete joint visits with Therapy team as required.

To work as an effective and integral member of a forward-thinking team, providing a responsive and needs led service.

Driving Licence 
A full current driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this post
