Finance Officer (3 Posts - Service Accounting)
East Lothian is seeking three individuals to join the team. The posts will be based in Service Accounting and will support the financial management of a range of council services including budget development, budget monitoring and supporting services through transformation and change.
As a smaller council there are increased opportunities for successful applicants to work across a wider remit and to develop your skills and experience.
These are critical permanent posts within that new structure. There will be opportunities for the successful applicant to help shape the future direction of the team and this is an exciting time to join.

As a key member of the Business Finance Team, the Finance Officer will be expected to;
- Support the Finance Business Partner and Principal Accountant to develop service
- Support in the preparation of accurate and timely financial monitoring reports to Council services, ensuring that relevant information is reflected within the financial ledger and budget profiling is accurate; timely and accurate reconciliations are undertaken; and financial variances are identified and investigated.
- Support the successful delivery of the Council’s statutory financial accounts and
other key statutory returns.

A formal accountancy or business management qualification at HNC/SVQ Level 3 and/or able to demonstrate substantial experience/skills in a financial management/business management role.
