Under 18 years :    £5.28 per hour
18-20 years :           £7.49 per hour
21-22 years :           £10.18per hour
23+:                          £10.42 per hour

This opportunity is fixed term for 18 months.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Modern Apprentice to join the Employment & Reward Team at East Lothian Council.

Duties
You will provide support in the Employment & Reward team which deals with employee contracts, payroll and employee benefits.  With good interpersonal skills,  you will be flexible, a team player, confident and able to converse with employees and managers to answer queries. Daily duties will include answering the telephone, responding to emails, uploading paperwork to the Civica system, and assisting with other HR or payroll processes.
Training in the use of specialist software packages will be provided, however a basic knowledge and ability to use Mircrosoft Office packages is desirable.
You must provide evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy skills (minimum of three standard grades level 3 passes or National 4's including English and Mathematics).
As part of East Lothian Council's 'Support for Employability' commitment to promote youth opportunities in the County, this post is open to those who are aged 16 – 19 and reside in East Lothian. (For those who are disabled or care-experienced, this is extended up to and including age 29). You will be asked to confirm you meet this criteria when you complete the application form.

There will be ongoing support from an external training provider to achieve the SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.

Job Details

To undertake a Modern Apprenticeship Business Administration Level 3 and provide an efficient and effective administrative support to Payroll.
