Due to career progression an opportunity has arisen for a permanent part time Community Occupational Therapist to join our forward thinking, dynamic and integrated team based in Musselburgh Primary care Centre.

Our service is committed to developing effective and efficient ways of enabling people affected by disability to achieve their outcomes which may be in the form of rehabilitation or use of equipment and adaptations.

You will be part of an integrated team working with Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy Smart TEC and Telecare and will work within the West Cluster which consists of Musselburgh, Whitecraig, Wallyford and Prestonpans.

You will be responsible for managing a caseload of a mixture of cases. Casework will include complex work such as Moving and handling or assessing for equipment and adaptations, Outpatient / Early Intervention Clinic and Rehabilitation Interventions. Depending on experience you may also hold responsibility of other Occupational Therapy staff.

We have excellent training opportunities including competency frameworks, external and internal training including our own in service training plans.

 We also offer regular supervision, clinical and professional and there are also regular opportunities to take students.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is skilled in assessment, rehabilitation, adaptations and moving and handling. You will have sound knowledge of a range of medical conditions and how they affect a persons ability to function in their home environment. You must be registered with the Health Care Professions Council.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to Dip/BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy.
Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Health Professions Council.

Driving Licence
As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*

PVG Membership
