East Renfrewshire Council’s Housing Services are looking to recruit a talented and committed individual for the position of Maintenance Officer.
The post-holder will focus on providing a high quality, effective and customer focussed inspection, repair and maintenance service to Housing’s tenants and customers.
The role will also deliver a comprehensive range of property maintenance and management services across housing properties, liaising with internal and external teams and contractors in the course of executing the role.
The post holder will ensure that the delivery of all maintenance works; reactive, cyclical and planned works are managed based on agreed timescales by liaising with various internal and external teams to ensure the works are to a standard to meet customer’s specific needs and meet all required compliance and safety legislation. This includes Aids and Adaptions; the post holder will be responsible for coordinating pre and post inspections, undertaking surveys, ordering of materials, instructing internal and external contractors and supporting colleagues in different teams throughout the aids & adaptation process.
The post holder will support the work of other maintenance team members, ensuring appropriate cover during times of leave is maximised across the Property & Capital functions.
The post holder will also ensure all associated liaison and follow-up works associated with process are carried out to a high standard.
The post-holder will ensure that all maintenance works, and services carried out by, or on behalf of the Council are delivered safely and effectively and to the quality and standards expected.
*Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
