Funded by the Scottish Government as part of No-one left behind Funding, an opportunity has arisen for individuals to gain experience in the world of employment through the Council’s Neighbourhood Services Department. As well as providing training and guidance, the Council also offers successful candidates the opportunity to work as part of a successful well established team which has a significant reputation for high quality, customer focused work.

The successful candidates will work as part of a team and assist with operative duties in all aspects of parks maintenance and cleansing. This will include weed control, grass cutting, hedge trimming, litter picking, emptying bins and graffiti removal and other tasks. The working week is 30 hours Monday to Friday.

In order to be eligible for this round of funding, applicants must either be long term unemployed, 25+ or be a parent from one of the following groups: Lone Parent Families, Families with a Disabled Person, Parents with Three or More Children, Parents with Babies under 1, Young Parents (under 25), Minority Ethnic Parents, Other Low Income Parents e.g. Kinship Carers.

In addition, applicants must live in Scotland and be an East Renfrewshire resident and have the right to live and work in the UK.
