Job Advert

Applications are invited for the roles of Clerk of Works based within the Asset and Investment Team of Transform, Communities and Corporate Services to provide a site inspectorate service relating to construction projects.

Applicants must hold an appropriate construction industry related HNC, or equivalent, with relevant experience and be mobile throughout the Council area. You will have good communication skills, take the initiative and be proficient in the use of MS packages and familiar with the use of management database systems. Membership of the Clerk of Works Institute would be a distinct advantage.

Reporting directly to Senior officers you will be involved in the site supervision of projects of various sizes involving the Councils housing property estate. The workload will be varied across a range of our Capital investment projects from refurbishment, external fabric improvement works to our larger window & door and heating replacement programmes and new build works.

These works aim to take account of the Housing and Climate emergencies providing more Council homes, which are suitable for our tenants and assists them with their living costs. Our works have a focus on sustainability, protecting our environment by reducing the carbon footprint of Falkirk Council’s housing stock, providing warmer and more energy efficient homes whilst carrying out improvements to the existing houses to meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standards (SHQS) and the Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing (EESSH).
