This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to Falkirk’s growing economy and make Falkirk one of the best places to live and work in Scotland.
As a key member of our senior management team, you will lead the delivery of economic development services including regeneration of our town centres and villages, drive forward our Innovative Growth Deal projects, engage with our key sectors including the manufacturing industries and tourism, as well as support wider business development and management of the Business Gateway.

The role requires a real grasp of economic wellbeing and growth as we transition our industry and communities towards a net zero economy.
As Economic Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic economic policy and making recommendations on specific strategic and policy matters. This includes leading applications/bids to secure and manage external funding from a range of organisations.
The ability to influence across organisational and agency boundaries and build good relationships with our elected members is essential, as is experience and a sound knowledge of economic development, regeneration and delivering major projects.
The successful candidate with be highly motivated professional with the ability to work on their own initiative and as a leader of a team.
A good working knowledge and experience of a range of internal and external IT systems including Microsoft packages and financial systems is essential.
Applicants should hold a suitable qualification at Degree level and have a minimum of 5 years previous relevant experience in Economic Development/Regeneration.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations across the Falkirk area to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
