Job Advert

Burnbrae is a 28 bedded residential care home supporting older adults who have a range of differing needs such as a mental health diagnosis, Dementia and/or frailty. Our service is part of the Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership where we work closely with other professionals within a multidisciplinary team. Burnbrae is a well-established care home with a highly experienced, motivated, and passionate team of staff. We endeavour to work together to ensure we provide a warm and welcoming environment focused on person-centred care for all who live within Burnbrae alongside a supportive place of work for our colleagues.

We are located near the centre of Falkirk within beautiful surroundings and with multiple accessible public transport options nearby.

Within our service, there are multiple learning opportunities for staff. We place importance on training, development, and opportunities to progress within a supportive environment.

Casual Social Care Workers are on an as and when required basis filling vacant shifts. Casual work can be beneficial if you do not wish to commit to a formal working pattern. Although your “host home” would be Burnbrae, you would have the opportunity to undertake shifts within other Falkirk Council Care Homes. It is essential that candidates have knowledge and experience of care. It is desirable that this experience is gained from working with older adults, particularly those who have a mental health diagnosis. The candidate should have good communication and interpersonal skills, versatility in their role, an eagerness to learn and develop, an ability to prioritise workload and time management and be a team-player.

Moving and Handling training together with an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential as there are opportunities to undertake this qualification within the Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership. The candidate must be able to register with the SSSC as a Practitioner in Care Home Services for older adults and hold or obtain the relevant qualification within the regulatory time scale.

If you feel you have the relevant skills, knowledge and attributes for this post and would like to work within our service where you could make a difference to someone’s life and lead a fulfilling career then please apply now.

You will work on an as and when required basis.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.

For further information please contact Resource Centre Manager Samantha Sheldon-Brown on (01324) 501850 / 590621.
