Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker – or an existing Senior Practitioner, to join a well-established, experienced and highly supportive team who assess and support the needs of Children Affected by Disability across Fife. We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to join our management team.

You will have a proportionate caseload and be responsible for a range of assessments, including statutory, child protection, and Section 23 assessments that require a more experienced worker overview. You will also be responsible for the leadership, supervision and support of a small group of front-line staff and be part of the team’s management group. You will also join the team’s duty rota, and will provide support to our front line duty staff.

You will understand that many of our children and young people require lifelong support and share our passion to ensure good outcomes for young people as they transition into adulthood.

You will have a creative and flexible approach to promoting the needs of children who face the barriers of communication, health and social disadvantage, keeping children and young people at the centre of planning. You are a team player who can work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary service and establish meaningful links within internal and external services.

The Person

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
