Job Details

An opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager within Roads and Transportation Services. Reporting to the Head of Service we are looking for a dynamic, inventive, collaborative Service Manager to join our team.

It is an exciting time to join Roads and Transportation Services as Fife looks to deliver major transformational improvements in support of the ambitions of the Plan for Fife and the wider regional and national context.

Key areas of work include:

• Leading the Council’s duties in relation to the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 in terms of maintaining the adopted road network.
• Leading the enforcement and coordination of New Roads & Street Works Act 1991 issues.
• The Council’s lead contact for strategic road network liaison with Transport Scotland and the trunk road maintenance operators.
• Leading the delivery of operational roads network & traffic management services.

The Person

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced Civil Engineering professional who has experience in a similar role, has excellent communication and team building skills and an appreciation of political objectives, local aspirations and financial constraints.

The candidate should be a member of an appropriate professional body and educated to Degree level or equivalent. You will be a professional role model and demonstrate a proven track record in delivery.

We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
