Job Description

An exciting, position of Assistant Area Operations Manager is now available, working within the Home Care Service, where you will report to the Area Operations Manager. To succeed in this role, you will be a confident, self-motivated, and driven individual with an  ability to put forward new ideas and solutions that add value to the Home Care Service.
 
The main duties and responsibilities will include the provision of initial assessments for non-complex referrals focussing on a Reablement approach.  To do this you will work in partnership with the Occupational Therapists and the local rehabilitation teams to achieve the best outcomes for service users.  
 
You will be responsible for the supervision of Home Care staff, ensuring the delivery of an efficient and effective service that meets National Care Standards. You will be required to carry out return to work interviews in line with Glasgow City Council’s Attendance Management policies and procedures, work place observations and plan and organise service delivery that is of a high standard and quality.
 
In addition, you will be responsible for the completion of personal support plans for service users transferring from Reablement to mainstream Home Care.  
 
The successful applicant will have a flexible approach to service delivery and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with internal/external customers and other agencies. There is a requirement to work on your own initiative as well as part of a multi-discplinary team and possession of a UK Driving Licence is desirable. 
 
Applicants should be qualified, working towards or have the ability to undertake and attain a qualification at SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and a relevant management qualification (SCQF level 7) to meet the requirements of registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). 
 
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with SSSC Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Check Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees. 
 
These posts are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
