Job Description

These posts are in the Emergency Out of Hours Social Work Services which covers Glasgow and the five other Local Authorities within the Greater Glasgow & Clyde Board area.

This is a contractual arrangement with Glasgow being the lead authority.

The posts are required to ensure effective and efficient deliver of statutory social work assessment and intervention in emergency situations with referrals coming from police, health, public etc as well as alerts from the six local authorities we serve.

This is a generic service covering all aspects of adult and child care including Adult Support and Protection, Mental Health officer work and Child Protection.

The service runs 365 days per year between the hours of 4.45pm and 9am weekdays and weekends, 3.55pm on a Friday until 9am on a Monday as well as all public holidays for the six local authorities.

Applicants must possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent) and be able to demonstrate commitment to Continuous Professional Development.

Candidates must be Qualified social workers and hold either Child protection or Mental Health Officer Qualification.

You must be able to work across the six local authorities within Greater Glasgow and Clyde delivering an emergency out of hours statutory social work service.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with SSSC Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

Pattern of Work - 4 week shift pattern including weekends and nightshift & public holidays
