Glasgow Life is looking for a Conventions Support Assistant to join us on 35 hours, full time, permanent contract.  As Conventions Support Assistant you will be joining our in-demand Glasgow Convention Bureau. You will be part of a dedicated team which supports Glasgow Life Tourism and Conventions team.

The role 
As a Conventions Support Assistant you’ll be an integral part of the team by providing a vital role in support of the Accommodation Manager and wider internal team. The role provides accommodation support for confirmed conferences and conference bids. The role involves extensive work on the accommodation booking website, Passkey, keeping administration of commission revenue for the accommodation department accurate and up to date. The role will also support the Convention Bureau team to deliver economic benefit from delegate spend, legacy and impact, ensuring Glasgow has a positive reputation as a successful conference city. This is a business support role that works with and across all areas of the Convention Bureau, with specific responsibility for providing support with all accommodation matters to Convention Bureau colleagues. This involves building accommodation booking websites and liaising with hotel colleagues to collect allocations and rates for future Passkey conferences. The role requires excellent administration skills, with the ability to deliver to tight deadlines while working on a variety of projects at any one time. The role requires attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude that is always customer focussed. 
The post reports to our Senior Convention Bureau Support Manager and works alongside an established team. 

The candidate 
If you’re interested in joining us as a Conventions Support Assistant you’ll need the following skills and experience:
- Experience of working within an accommodation booking service area
- Experience in working with conference organisers, delegates and hotel guests
- Experience of the Passkey accommodation booking system
- Have attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to deliver to deadlines 
- Have excellent administrative and organisational skills and be competent in using excel

This role is working Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
