Job Description

An opportunity has arisen with Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability’s Alarm Receiving Centre service for a Monitoring Officer to join our team on a permanent basis.

Position Details

The Monitoring Officer will be responsible for monitoring the safety of vulnerable workers, responding to fire, intruder and lone worker alarm activations, and reporting incidents of note. Implementing agreed client escalation and business continuity plans and carry out relevant duties within the Alarm Receiving Centre including production of basic incident reports.

The work pattern for the post is a rotating 4 on / 4 off pattern of rotating dayshifts (7am – 7pm) and nightshifts (7pm – 7am), inclusive of a 1-hour unpaid break. The annual salary is based on 35-hours working on an incremental scale starting at £22,100.75 and progressing to £25,603.58, in addition there is an annual contractual overtime payment for 3.5 hours per week (£2,210.08 – £2,560.36) and a non-standard hours payment of £4,925.28. This is a total salary package of £29,236.11 - £33,089.22.

Please note an SIA Licence (CCTV) would be advantageous, though should the successful candidate not hold this training will be provided to allow them to undertake this role.

As part of the pre-employment checks for this post the successful candidate will have to undergo a BS7858 Security Screening check which will involve a 5 or 10-year career history check, a financial probity check and criminal record screening. This will be completed in addition to the Council’s own standard pre-employment checks, which will be detailed to the successful candidate following interviews
