Job Description
You will be part of an existing team undertaking Cleansing route risk assessment reviews. The Risk, Performance and Audit Officers will work and liaise closely with NRS senior management to undertake a Review of all refuse collection routes with specific regard to risk assessments covering manual handling and road traffic hazard management. Working closely with the Health and Safety Team, duties will include: carrying out inspections and assessments of citywide refuse collection routes; engaging with Cleansing managers and operatives; undertaking and recording route risk assessments; preparing detailed management reports and any other appropriate tasks.
Previous experience in the waste industry, knowledge of refuse collection, the ability to work in an office environment and work outdoors while evaluating refuse collection routes is desirable. Good communication, interpersonal, IT skills and a current driving licence are essential. Previous Health & Safety Training/knowledge/experience is also desirable.
Specific training will be provided to assist with the Route Risk Assessments.
This post is fixed term for a period up to 12 months.
