Job Purpose:

  • Analyse and monitor performance information to ensure service compliance with statutory duties and adequacy of service performance against targets and statutory indicators.
  • Analyse raw performance data to understand and identify where and how efficiencies and improvements can be made.
  • Develop service plans and strategy to improve performance whilst still meeting policy and legislative requirements
  • Use specialist technical knowledge to support the budget setting process for all Revs & BS budgets, including compiling the budget, setting estimates, analysing and monitoring income and expenditure and identifying opportunities
  • Use specialist technical knowledge to analyse data and perform complex calculations as required before completion of all appropriate financial returns and claims, including DWP subsidy claim
  • Reconciliation of all related budgets, including Revs & BS budget, CTAX,NDR,HB, DHP, SWF, collections on behalf of BID’s and Scottish Water, and payments in respect of the Sheriff Officer contract.
  • Work with management team, internal and external audit to ensure compliance with financial regulations, legislative and policy requirements and assurance of accuracy and quality.

Requirements

  1. Educated to degree level or equivalent accountancy qualification, able to demonstrate 5 years relevant experience and expertise in relation to budgets and financial resources within a welfare benefit and local government taxation environment.
