Job Description

Post Title:    Professional Support Officer - Modern Apprentice
Location:      Inverness/Homeworking                            
Hours:          35 hours per week             
Duration:      Fixed Term (2 years from the start of employee contract)
Salary:          HC01 (£19,747 p.a.) to HC06 (£27,227 - £30,375 p.a.)

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

This post may be home or office-based dependant on current Government guidance. Work location will remain under review. This vacancy may be delivered via a hybrid model of home/office working with some office attendance required.

Job Purpose: Technical and monitoring support to the Area Planning and Building Standards Teams. The post holder is part of a virtual team who are responsible for processing and validating all planning applications submitted to the council. This entails the plotting of all applications and assessing if all the necessary information has been submitted to allow them to be validated whilst also arranging for all relevant consultees to be consulted. The post holder will with experience develop their own case load and assess and determine householder applications, prior notifications for agricultural buildings and telecommunications apparatus as well as all related development and permitted development enquiries. They will also assist in the delivery of the enforcement function within this area.
