Hours: 37 Hours Per Week

Salary: £46,244 - £53,789 p.a.

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: Provide specialist guidance, advice, support, leadership, training and supervision to health personnel in relation to the wellbeing and protection of children, young people and families, within capacity of role.

Provide specialist child protection health advice to partner agencies where a child or young person is at risk of harm or neglect and represent health in processes to protect children and young people across Argyll and Bute. 

Deliver training, learning and development plans and programmes to health personnel across Argyll and Bute and NHS Highland for the wellbeing and protection of children, young people and families.

Undertake audit and research, collect and manage data in accordance with requirements. 

To attend MAPPA/MARAC processes as the health representative as required.

Requirements

  • Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification or equivalent  
  • Educated to degree level.  
  • Child welfare and protection post graduate certificate/ Master’s (or willing to work towards)
  • Current NMC  registration (part 1 or 2 & part 3) Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting /School Nurse)
  • Be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Highland to
    meet the operational requirements of the service
  • Significant experience in public health nursing
