We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our outdoor ELC at in Vogrie Country Park engage and inspire our children and optimise their opportunity for learning.

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative person to join our Outdoor ELC team, based in Vogrie Country Park.

Vogrie Outdoor ELC is open 49 weeks of the years and is a fully outdoor ELC, as such we are looking for someone who enjoys the natural environment and understands the implications of being outside in all seasons and weathers.  The role in physically demanding and will successful candidates’ will need to be capable of undertaking this type of work.

KNOWLEDGE

Post holder must hold at least a practitioner level qualification, HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7; or SVQ Social Services (Children & Young people) at SCQF 7 or equivalents that meet the requirements for SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) registration e.g.

SVQ 3 Child Care and Education

SVQ 3 Early Years Care and Education

SVQ Children’s Care learning and Development SCQF 7

HNC Childcare and Education.

HNC Working with Children in Early Years.

HNC Early Education and Childcare (at SCQF level 7).

Qualifications which were previously recognised for SNNEB/NNEB registration may be acceptable.

An up to date first aid certificate is also required.

Significant Outdoor Experience

Outdoor Paediatric First Aid Qualification

MIDAS License

Campfire Cooking and Food Hygiene Certificate

It is desirable that candidates have experience of supporting children with ASN, a knowledge of positive behaviour strategies.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £26,918.62 per annum

Requirements
