Job Vacancy
Jobholders must possess a minimum qualification of the Certificate in HR Practice and a Payroll Technician Certificate or equivalent level qualification. In addition the jobholder must have proven experience of working on corporate human resources and/or payroll systems or related project delivery demonstrating a good working knowledge of the operational processes and the associated policy and legislation. S/he must be able to respond to all operational aspects of Tax, National Insurance and Pensions legislation and year end enquiries.
Consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate competence in both a human resources and payroll environment but the qualifications must be achieved within a designated timescale. In addition, Jobholders must be competent in the use and application of Windows based software.
A CIPD intermediate Diploma and/or a cippNational Payroll Certificate level qualification is desirable.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the associated regulation, data protection and financial probity issues.
To be competent in the role the jobholder must have good interpersonal skills and develop and maintain an understanding of all aspects of Midlothian Council HR Policy and Procedure contract and pay related conditions for each employee group.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £29,679.98 per annum.
