An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage our Travel Team function which currently operates from Bonnyrigg Bus Garage. As a confident and experienced Bus Transport Manager with qualifications to match you will have responsibility to keep the home to school transport service moving delivered through a mix of internal staff and sub-contracted provision and liaise with bus service providers, approve timetable changes, and bus stop provision.
You will work closely with the Workshop Operational Manager to ensure that all the Council obligations and duties for fleet and driver management are discharged and be eligible to be added to the DVSA Operator Licence.
The service is going through a period of change which requires an agile leader with good people and IT skills to take staff on the journey. This is a high-profile position with regular scrutiny from the public and elected members which requires good communications skills and a resilient personality.

The position comes with access to Lothian Pension Scheme with a typical 22% employer contribution equivalent to around £9,300 per annum.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £42,322.15 per annum (pay award pending).
