An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage our Workshop function which currently operates from Bonnyrigg Garage and Stobhill Depot. As a confident and experienced leader with qualifications to match you will have responsibility to keep the Council fleet of cars, vans, buses, gritters, road rollers, and refuse vehicles on the road delivering essential services to our communities. The Council also operates a significant amount of plant such as push and ride on grass mowers, tree chippers, mini-diggers, snow plough attachments etc. Due to the age of the fleet and range of suppliers you will need to be agile moving from planned maintenance to breakdown repairs and a skilled negotiator to ensure smooth delivery of parts and materials from the supply chain. You will be eligible to hold the Vehicle Operators Licence on behalf of the Council and manage the MOT station.
The salary on offer is subject to a pending pay award and the Council will typically make annual pension contributions in aggregate of around £10,000 to Lothian Pension Fund if the postholder chooses to enrol.

Requirements
Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard.
