Evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy skills at Higher Grade level, or equivalent, is required.
Some practical experience or demonstration of competency in the use of word processing and standard PC software packages is also essential.
The jobholder must be familiar with child development and have previous experience of working in this field of work. The jobholder must be able to demonstrate experience with working with parents and children in raising standards. A National Certificate or equivalent in child/adolescent development is desirable.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on you working 35 hours over 39 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £21,182.54 per annum.
Requirements
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
