We are recruiting for Senior Communities, Lifelong learning & Employability Workers (1.5fte) who will deliver the key functions of the CLLE service through strategic and operational planning and face to face delivery across Midlothian, working within geographic communities and with communities of interest.  The key tasks within the job description can be allocated flexibly in terms of roles and number of hours across 2 or more posts, but will involve strategic and operational planning; the development and delivery of adult and family learning, youth work and other youth activities; support and engagement with community organisations, third sector and Community Councils to build capacity and provide advice and assistance on key elements of the Community Empowerment Act.  These posts will also involve the supervision of staff/staff teams and volunteers.  These posts require regular evening and occasional weekend working and if working with young people you will need to be available every Friday afternoon/evening to oversee youth work activity.

It is essential that you have a degree in Community Education, or equivalent, and extensive experience of planning and delivering a range of community and lifelong learning programmes and projects including accredited opportunities. A good working knowledge of Community Planning, the Community Empowerment Act and the Requirements for CLD (Scotland) Regulations is essential.

It is desirable that you have supervised either volunteers and / or staff, hold verifier and assessor qualifications acceptable to SQA and other accreditation bodies and have experience of supporting internal or external working groups to lead on key community and lifelong learning themes.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £38,058.00 per annum.
