In partnership with others you will drive forward best practice at strategic, operational and individual level to ensure we provide innovative and responsive services. Key aspects of the role are to cultivate and further develop a highly skilled and committed workforce to deliver quality services and service provision in line with key drivers such as our commitment to The Promise and reshaping services.

 The post will enable you to grow as a leader and manager in a Council which has children and families firmly at its heart. KNOWLEDGE:

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level
  • A professional qualification in Social Work
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Child Welfare and Protection
  • A post graduate qualification (or working towards) in Leadership and Management
  • An in-depth working knowledge of children’s service and familiarity with a range of children’s services across the public and voluntary sector
  • Significant knowledge, skills and experience of work in services for children, young people and their families,
  • Demonstrate significant knowledge, skills and understanding of relevant legislation, policy and procedures including a well-developed understanding of the GIRFEC principles
  • Significant experience of multi-agency working at operational management level, demonstrating initiative and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of partners and stakeholders
  • Experience of service planning, delivery and approaches to measuring service impact
  • Excellent knowledge of management processes associated with leading teams preferably a multi-disciplinary team with a range of professional groups
  • Technology-literate in managing information and data
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuing personal and professional development.
  • An understanding of budget management.
  • Current driving license and own transport.

Desirable:

  • A PQ Award in a relevant field

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £60,430.70 per annum.
